What is Home? Hope, Humanity and Heart: AAW joined forces with the Bay Area’s Monday Night Poets and the nationally known horn ensemble Quadre to create a special exhibition of artwork, poetry and music that compassionately reflected on the issue of homelessness. The show challenged perceptions of what it means to be unhoused and highlighted the powerfully-uplifting work done by local organizations that serve the unhoused community. The art was present at a musical performance at the Mountain View Center for Performing Arts (June, 2021) and during the month of July, 2021 at the Los Altos Library, Los Altos, CA.
Martha’s Kitchen Art Auction and Benefit: Members created a group project inspired by two well-known master paintings, Van Gogh’s “Three Sunflowers in a Vase” and Degas’ “The Star”. The paintings were auctioned off at a Gala event at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, October 2019.
SVOS: Many of our members particpated in the 2019 Silicon Valley Open Studios including Kaaren Marquez, Will Maller, Gary Coleman, Kay Duffy, Veronica Gross, Yao-pi Hsu, Julian Watson and Belinda Lima.
