Will Maller
Will began his studies at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and earned his BA in Art with graduate work at the University of Minnesota. Graphic Arts/Design, Art Direction, Illustration, Creative Direction and Maller Design Inc. followed with a move to California in 1986.
Maller’s acknowledgements in the last few years have included: People’s Choice Award at the Napa Valley Museum’s “Northern Views: California Painting in the Plein Air Tradition,” and “Artists’ Choice” at the Los Gatos Juried Plein Air Festival. Numerous other juried shows and awards have earned him Signature Membership with the International Plein Air Painters (IPAPA), National Oil and Acrylics Painters Society (NOAPs), Outdoor Painters Society (OPS) as well as Plein Air Artists of Colorado (PAAC). National juried competitions have included Los Gatos and Carmel in California; Dallas, Taos, Telluride and Aspen. In 2017 he was a Featured Artist at the Mendocino Plein Air Paint Out. He also enjoys being a plein air instructor to many local artists.
In 2010, Will was awarded the “Paint the Parks National Grand Prize Winner” as well as a finalist in Southwest Art Magazine’s top “21 Artists over 31.” He recently had his work featured in Plein Air Southwest Salons in 2012 and 2014. In 2017 Will was 1 of 19 National known artists invited to participate in the “Northern California Impressionism: From Field to Studio”, exhibition at the Peninsula of Art Museum, Burlingame, CA.
