Painting is perhaps a reflection of my inner value to the world around me. I am a figurative painter. I choose “Figurative” because there is always a story to be told. I like to be able to connect to the subjects as I paint. I always believe that my palette and my brushstrokes will reveal how I feel when I’m emotionally involved.
My painting style tends to be realistic. However, I love to use visual languages that are ambiguous and subtle. I like a painting that is not fully defined or described. I also like to leave interesting textures along the way in my process. Good textures give a painting depth and maturity. I often leave a certain level of abstract elements in my paintings to give viewers room for imaginations and making their own connections.
